I bought this book before building a redwood-framed greenhouse, and the information it provided was critical to my success. Then I bought one for my brother. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in building a greenhouse, shop, add-on room, or similar project.

Beginning with background information, the book provides the reader with everything he needs to know about building, including structural loads and how they interact, sizing lumber, working with tools, and reading blueprints. The book then takes the reader through the framing process; from installing mudsills on the foundation through floor framing, wall framing, roof framing, sheathing, and more.
