I am a professional design engineer and am always looking to self-educate by reading, especially material geared towards other members of a project team.
I have not yet reviewed the scheduling spreadsheets. It is distribued on a 3.5-inch floppy which none of my computers have. Although the book is copyrighted 2004, there are references to Windows 3.0 and Excel 97. But I would imagine for small scale construction scheduling one's attention is better directed at Microsoft Project 98 or 2000 and a third party guide which will provide you with more than probably needed on the subject of CPM. And there are more powerful, competing software products.
A recommendation to print reports on carbon or NCR paper caught my eye, confirming this book is based on pre-2004 material.
Web-based reporting, email, and PDF's are having a significant impact on schedule information collection, reporting, and filing. A chapter on this, ammendinig obviously older-but-fundamental material, is needed.
Additionally, as a design-side reviewer, the subject of submittal management (the text should reflect that, for many years now, shop drawings are only one type of submittal) should be given more attention. They should be QC'd for conformance to the contract documents and scheduled just like everything else.
