(More customer reviews)It is truly amazing the amount of information that has been overlooked over the past hundred years that was in the original News articles as they were printed. By the end of the first month, there was no doubt who the guilty person was.
The articles included are transcribed as is, it would have been a shame for any author to correct the miss-prints or the different versions of the same names. It makes for a truly accurate and factual account of the originals and actually brings the reader into the accounts as they occurred over a hundred years ago. It also helps to clarify events that took place, humorous at times, such as the "Shin Kicking Incident" or the "Fall of Trickey", that may never have seen the light of day again, if not for this book.
It also gives a realistic view of how newspapers of the day competed and fought over every bit of information that was obtained, and rushed to get it out in the papers, regardless of how incriminating.
I really liked this book. It certainly helped a novice understand why after so many years there is still a mystique around the Borden Household.

It has been 119 years since the axe fell upon the heads of Andrew Borden and his wife. Since that fateful day one of the country's biggest mysteries has swirled around Lizzie Borden the daughter of the murdered couple. With this book I hope to wade through all the false leads, far fetched suspects and delve into the core of the true events as they happened in August 1892. Instead of coming up with my own far fetched theory, I will attempt to display logically who committed the murders andgot away with it, so many years ago. This is the true hunt for Lizzie Borden and you also are now "On the Road to Fall River!"
